The shopping world in Portugal is going through hectic times. Especially recently, we clearly see that giant brands are accelerating their investments and expanding their networks with new points. As September approaches, the expected move has come from Primark, known for its cheap and diverse products. The brand is getting ready to open its doors with two brand new stores across Portugal in September.
September Calendar is Busy
It looks like the openings will be held one after the other. The first stop will be Forum Castelo Branco on September 2; Immediately afterwards, on September 10, the Alegro Setúbal branch will open its doors. In fact, these steps are a clear indication of the brand's confidence in the Portuguese market and its huge investment of over 45 million euros.
Not only are stores opening, but there is also a serious movement in employment. These two new points will provide income for more than 80 people in total:
Castelo Branco: more than 30 job positions
Setúbal: more than 50 job positions
What Will Stores Offer Us?
Of course, there is a slight difference between the two branches in terms of dimensions. While the store in Castelo Branco will serve in a more compact area of 929 square meters, the store in Setúbal will be quite spacious with a large area of over 1,626 square meters.
If you ask what's on the shelves; In addition to classic women's, men's and children's clothing, there will be beauty products, lifestyle accessories and home textiles (bedding sets, decorations, etc.). In the payment sections, there will be both traditional cash registers and self-checkout areas to speed up transactions.
Growth Doesn't Stop Here
The plans are not limited to this. Next up are the Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto projects. In fact, a previously discussed investment for Covilhã is on the table. When all these expansion moves are completed, the number of Primark stores across Portugal will reach 18 and more than 300 new jobs will be created in total.
