Start with the event, not the advertising

The inaugural Portugal Legends Championship is scheduled for 30 October–1 November 2026 at Pinheirinho Golf Course, as part of the Staysure Legends Tour. The organiser’s tournament page confirms the dates and venue.

This is a spectator planning guide, not a holiday package or a golf lesson. For people living in Portugal, knowing that there is a tournament near Comporta is only the beginning. Finding the correct entrance, understanding admission and planning the journey home matter more than a string of promotional descriptions.

Free admission and playing are different things

The host venue’s announcement states that admission is free and that visitors can register through Legends Tour. It also mentions amateur Playing Experiences; those are a separate option, not a benefit automatically included in spectator registration.

Free entry does not establish that parking, food or transport will also be free. We have not verified prices for those services. Ask the organiser before setting a family budget or making a booking that depends on a particular facility being available.

Do not navigate only to “Comporta”

The host lists its contact address as Herdade do Pinheirinho, 7570-401 Melides. Spectator access and parking could use a designated entrance on tournament days. Compare the location in your registration confirmation with the venue address before leaving.

A single journey time from Lisbon would not suit every visitor. Your starting address, route, traffic and queues affect the day. Add time for parking and reaching the entrance rather than treating a navigation app’s driving estimate as the whole journey.

If travelling without a car, plan the final leg from your transport stop to the course and back. Reaching a nearby settlement is not the same as reaching the spectator entrance. This guide does not claim that a shuttle, a particular bus route or a transfer service has been confirmed.

A simple plan for your first golf visit

Following a group around the course and staying at one viewing point are different ways to watch. On arrival, ask staff where spectators can stand and which routes they may use. Stay in designated areas and do not cross a line of play to get a closer view.

• Notice quiet moments: Pause conversations and silence your phone when a player prepares a shot. Follow the event’s photography rules.
• Allow for walking: Wear comfortable shoes you have used before. There is no need to spend the whole day standing.
• Carry less: A weather-appropriate layer, charged phone and registration confirmation make a useful starting checklist. Check restrictions on bags and outside food separately.
• Plan your departure: If sharing a car, agree a meeting point and leaving time before splitting up.
