There are planned water cuts in Portugal this week: Areas and times that will be affected

Temporary water cuts are being implemented in the week of 14-20 September due to planned works on water networks in different regions of Portugal.

The cuts are not a single measure that covers the whole country. Certain neighborhoods and streets will be temporarily affected due to maintenance, connection and network renewal works planned separately by municipalities and local water administrations.

For this reason, it is necessary to check the announcement of the municipality of residence instead of general statements such as "Water will be cut off in Portugal".

Cascais: Blackout in Pampilheira on 16 September

According to the announcement of Águas de Cascais, normal water supply will not be provided in Pampilheira between 09.00 and 13.00 on Wednesday, September 16, due to network work.

Sintra: 15 September in Algueirão-Mem Martins

SMAS de Sintra announced that water supply will be cut off in the Bairro da Coopalme area on Tuesday, September 15, between 09.00 and 13.00.

The outage is linked to grid work in the Algueirão-Mem Martins region.

It is recommended that those living in the region prepare the necessary water in advance, especially in the morning hours.

Barreiro: Blackout between 14.00–18.00 in Penalva

It is planned to stop water supply in the area covering the western part of Rua dos Três Concelhos between approximately 14.00 and 18.00.

The work is related to the stormwater drainage infrastructure project in Penalva and the connection to the region's water network.

Águas do Alto Minho announced that there may be a disruption in water supply due to the reservoir work to be carried out in the Ponte de Lima municipality between 14.30 and 15.30 on September 15.

Fornelos and parts of Rebordões Souto and Feitosa may be affected.

The announcement here indicates the possibility of disruption and interruption to normal service rather than a definitive complete outage.

Mafra: September 16 in Encarnação

SMAS de Mafra also announced that there will be a planned water outage in the Encarnação region between 09.00 and 11.00 on September 16 due to network works.

Local administrations may state that operating times are estimates and that normal service may return earlier or later depending on technical conditions.
