In 2025, the total sales of Mounjaro and Wegovy in Portugal exceeded 512 thousand packages.

The monetary value of these sales was more than 130 million euros.

In just the first three months of 2026, sales of the two drugs reached 55.2 million euros.

Ordem dos Médicos requested detailed information from INFARMED about the way Mounjaro is prescribed.

Experts from the medical organization Farmakologia Clínica have previously emphasized that GLP-1 receptor agonists should be prescribed rationally and in appropriate clinical conditions.
