We were shaken by the unfortunate news of a fire early on Monday morning in one of the buildings on Rua Possidónio da Silva, right next to the Prazeres Cemetery. Unfortunately, at least five people were injured in the incident. The building where the fire broke out belongs to the Remar Association, which we know for its social support that embraces the homeless and people struggling with addiction. Approximately 20 people who were in the building to spend the night experienced great panic in the early hours of the morning. The Cause of the Fire is Suspicious Initial information was that the flames started in a minibus parked in front of the association. However, the Judicial Police (PJ) is very skeptical about this possibility. A judicial review and a detailed investigation were launched to clarify exactly where and under what circumstances the fire started. Five People Injured Unfortunately, the brawl and panic at the time of the incident led to injuries: Two people in the building were poisoned by the intense smoke. One person dared to escape from the flames and jumped out of the window. Another trapped person suffered a severe cut on his hand while trying to escape. One of the firefighters who entered the building during the intervention was injured when a cat inside bit him desperately. Such events happening in our streets, right next to us, really affect people deeply. While we hope that everyone affected by the fire will recover as soon as possible, the cat detail is interesting..
