TMLWhich monthly product fits?
Municipal is intended for regular travel within one municipality, while Metropolitano covers travel across the Lisbon metropolitan area. Age, family and residence conditions must be checked for reduced or free products.
The former passport and photo notes are retained, but online applications may use a digital photo or request different evidence. Follow the current application-channel checklist.

Choosing and using your card
Plan a real week of travel
List your home, work, school and regular appointments before choosing Municipal or Metropolitano. Crossing a municipal boundary changes the decision even if the journey looks short on a map. Check the route and participating operators; an occasional ticket, zapping balance and a monthly pass are different products.
Application and loading
Use the current operator form and confirm accepted ID, photograph, collection point and delivery date. Card issuance and loading a pass are separate transactions. Keep both receipts. Standard monthly products are tied to their calendar validity; do not assume that a purchase late in the month always gives another full 30 days. Ask which period the machine or counter is loading before paying.
Before the first journey
Check the displayed product, municipality where relevant, and validity. Validate as required by each service, including interchanges where needed. If a gate rejects the card, seek staff help rather than assuming that a purchase receipt replaces validation. For loss, a faulty card or duplicate charge, take the card number and receipts to an authorised service point.
