Drug Operation in Lagos: Suspect Suspect Seriously Injured While Trying to Escape from Balcony

While the summer season continues at full speed in the Algarve region, the police's pursuit of drug gangs continues uninterruptedly. This time the address is Lagos. After nearly a year of technical and physical pursuit, the Police (PJ) pressed the button for the operation codenamed "Duas Caras" (Two Hundred).

In the raid on Wednesday, August 5, two foreign national suspects, aged 27 and 35, who were determined to be part of the drug network, were caught. However, the moment of the operation was quite eventful; One of the suspects was seriously injured when he jumped from the second floor balcony to escape from the police and was taken directly to the hospital.

Target Audience: Foreign Tourists in Albufeira

According to information obtained from police sources, it was revealed that the captured people were targeting foreign tourists, especially those on holiday in Albufeira and its surroundings. The network, which actively uses social media platforms to expand its customer network, has established a serious distribution chain throughout the Algarve.

The substances and equipment seized during home and vehicle searches reveal the extent of the work:

Substances: 5 kg of cannabis resin, 500 grams of cocaine, cannabis leaves and MDMA.

Equipment: Precision scales, two vacuum packaging machines and many telecommunication devices.

Cash and Vehicle: Approximately 9,500 Euros in cash, as well as different foreign currencies such as Sterling and Irish Pounds, and a passenger vehicle.

Investigation Deepens

While the treatment of the suspect who jumped from the balcony and was injured was continuing, the other suspect was also detained. It is expected that the suspects will be brought to court and their detention orders will be clarified. Police officials state that the investigation is not over yet and that efforts are continuing to identify and capture other people connected to this network.

It is clear that the inspections in the field will become more frequent against such structures that take advantage of the tourist density in the middle of summer to inhabit the region.
