Bloody Night in Lagoa: He Stabbed His Friends with whom He Shared the Same House

Lagoa, one of the quiet towns of the Algarve, was shaken by a terrible incident of violence in the early hours of the morning at the beginning of the week. An argument over religious issues between housemates sharing the same house and room quickly turned into a bloody fight. The 40-year-old attacker seriously injured his two roommates with a knife.

The Discussion Grew in the Morning Hours

According to the information shared by the Portuguese Judicial Police (PJ), the incident broke out in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 25. An argument about religious beliefs began between the attacker and his 42-year-old roommate, with whom he shared the same bedroom.

The 40-year-old man, who got angry when the verbal conflict flared up, took out the approximately 10-centimeter pocket knife from his pocket and attacked his friend. The first victim was seriously injured, his lung being punctured with 8 stab wounds to the chest, abdomen and neck area.

He Attacked the Other Room Too

The attacker, whose anger did not subside, went to the other room of the house and started kicking the door and making threats to the other 35-year-old roommate inside. The unfortunate man who heard the noise and opened the door received a heavy blow to his neck without understanding anything.

The suspect, who did not stop despite the attack hitting the jugular vein directly and severe bleeding, dealt the man on the ground four more blows in the neck and shoulder area.

They are in intensive care, the attacker is in custody

Both victims managed to survive thanks to the intervention of emergency medical teams who quickly arrived at the scene and critical surgeries at the hospital. Currently, the treatment of both injured people in the intensive care unit continues.

The attacker, who was caught before he could escape after the incident, was arrested on the charge of "attempted qualified premeditated murder". As part of the investigation carried out by the Portimão Prosecutor's Office, the suspect will be brought before the interrogating judge for the finalization of the precautionary decision.
