Weekend Nightmare in Cais do Sodré: A Young Man Lost His Life

The incident, which took place at one of the liveliest spots in Lisbon over the weekend, once again brought up concerns about the security of the city, and in the most painful way. A 25-year-old young man lost his life in a knife attack that took place at noon on Sunday in the Roque Gameiro Garden, popularly known as the Cais do Sodré garden.

How did the incident develop?

In the incident, which took place shortly after 12:00 noon, the suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, stabbed the victim in the chest area and quickly fled the scene. The young man, who was seriously injured and was immediately taken to São José Hospital, unfortunately died around 13:00 despite all the interventions.

After this grave incident, which took place at a busy hour in the region, the Lisbon Metropolitan Police Command (Cometlis) confirmed the information, and the file was immediately transferred to the Judicial Police (Polícia Judiciária). For now, efforts and investigation to capture the suspect are continuing meticulously.
