The Little Child Found on the Street in the Early Morning in Braga and the Family Drama Left Behind

An incident that took place in the morning in the center of Braga revealed a heart-wrenching family drama. A 3-year-old boy crying alone at the entrance of the building at around 04.30 in the morning was noticed by the attention of the neighborhood residents. Neighbors immediately informed the police and PSP (Polícia de Segurança Pública) teams came to the scene and saw that the door of the house was wide open and the flat was completely empty.

After a few hours of uncertainty, the children's mother was found and an official investigation was launched against her as a suspect (arguida).

15-Year-Old Sister Goes Out to Search for Food for Her Brother

The 15-year-old sister, who came out immediately after the incident, revealed the gravity of the situation. Explaining that she was taking care of her little brother, the young girl said that she went to the nearby gas station at night because there was no food left at home, but returned empty-handed because it was closed.

According to the information given by the young girl to the police, the mother had not been at home since the weekend and was only messaging her children via WhatsApp. The two brothers, who lost their father while he was in prison, do not have another relative in the city to whom they can take shelter.

Two Brothers Taken Under Protection

After first aid, both children were taken to Braga Hospital for control. It was understood that the family had previously been under surveillance by the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ).

Social workers at the hospital and CPCJ stepped in and placed two siblings, ages 3 and 15, in the same child care center without separating them. The safety of children has been ensured for now; The police forces' judicial investigation into the incident continues in many aspects.
