Barcelona-Boston plane made an emergency landing in Porto: 14 people were treated, 4 people were hospitalized

A Delta Air Lines flight from Barcelona to Boston made an emergency landing at Porto Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport after smoke was detected in the cabin.

There were 296 people on the Airbus A330 type aircraft.

After the emergency landing, 14 people were evaluated by medical teams and 4 people were taken to Hospital de São João.

The condition of the people who were referred to the hospital was reported to be mild.

Smoke detected in the cabin

Delta Air Lines flight DL251 was heading from Barcelona to Boston, USA.

When smoke was detected in the cabin during the flight, the crew decided to head to Porto.

The plane landed safely at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport around 17:59.

Due to the emergency, large-scale health and rescue teams were dispatched to the airport.

It was reported that more than 60 emergency personnel participated in the operation.

It was reported that a lower number of passengers received medical assistance in the first hours of the incident.

After the emergency response was completed, the balance sheet was updated as 14 people were evaluated by medical teams and four people were referred to the hospital.

It was reported that the passengers who were taken to the hospital were not seriously injured.
