Portugal Enters Winter Time Tonight: Clocks Turn Back One Hour Across the Country
RTP / Agência Lusa

Portugal transitions to winter daylight saving time tonight. At 02:00 AM on Sunday, October 25, clocks fall back to 01:00 AM across the mainland, adjusting sunrise and daylight schedules.

In accordance with European Union daylight saving directives, clocks on the Portuguese mainland and Madeira will be turned back from 02:00 AM to 01:00 AM tonight, granting an additional hour of sleep. In the Azores Autonomous Region, the adjustment occurs at 01:00 AM, resetting clocks to midnight.

The change will widen the time gap with non-adjusting jurisdictions and produce noticeably earlier morning sunrises coupled with earlier dusk. Sleep specialists advise maintaining consistent bedtime routines over the weekend to help biological circadian clocks adapt smoothly to the shifted solar schedule.

This report was compiled and verified using official observatory releases via Agência Lusa and RTP.
