Nationwide Rail Disruption on October 30: CP Ticket Clerks and Conductors Call 24-Hour Strike

Ticketing personnel and onboard ticket inspectors across CP – Comboios de Portugal called a nationwide 24-hour strike for October 30. Widespread route cancellations are expected, and passengers have been offered full ticket refunds.

The SFRCI railway union confirmed the 24-hour national stoppage following prolonged wage stalemates. The carrier cautioned that timetable irregularities will extend from the evening of October 29 through the morning of October 31 as train sets and crews become displaced across regional depots.

Customers holding tickets for impacted services—including Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, and Regional trains—can process 100% fare refunds online via the CP app up to 15 minutes prior to scheduled departures. In-person refunds at station ticket windows will remain open for ten days following the strike.
