Missão Escola Pública has sent the Education Ministry 25 questions about preventing a repeat of this year’s problems in the 2027 national exams. The request, announced on 21 October, follows difficulties with digital marking and delays in publishing results.

The movement asks whether digital marking will continue, what changes will make the system reliable and whether full testing will take place before the next exam season.

Its questions include a contingency plan allowing a return to paper if serious failures occur. These are requests for information, rather than measures the ministry has announced it will adopt.

The submission also seeks details on teachers’ working conditions, outside contractors’ roles and costs. The movement wants named responsibilities and implementation deadlines rather than general assurances.

The report does not announce cancellation of the 2027 exams or a change in their timetable. The next relevant step for students and families is the ministry’s response about how preparations are being organised.

Questions cover whether a single scanning centre will remain, how answers are linked to the right student, QR-code reading and the recording of marks. The movement asks which concrete changes address problems identified in earlier reports.

It also seeks the scope, duration and total cost of external contracts, including any role for Deloitte. While supporting the parliamentary inquiry into what happened, MEP argues that preparations for the next exam season are a separate, immediate responsibility.
